Is 'reality' a simulation?

There is no doubt that the mundane framework of how we see things, supports a kind of objectivity: 

the objectivity we find in science and commonsense realism 

Yet, for some the physical world, is an illusion and does not exist; 

people of such opinions opine 'all that really exists is what we have been calling the external realit, the most we can hope for is to accept for that world as we see it, is a well founded  illusion, a virtual reality; an experiential simulation of a world. 

I read the above on this post and think is that a simulation, OK call me a pedant, but I don't think so.  So there!
