The concept of conscious Perverse fantasy is considered useful, as long
as it is not used pejoratively (in a derogatory way).
The difference between perverse action and
conscious fantasy is said to be the inability to contain the conflict in
fantasy due to impaired development of the cognitive ego function of
fantasising.
Perverse fantasies are not diagnostic of a particular pathology, but serve
different functions depending on the conflict and solutions which they
represent as one unravels one's thought processes around these invasive fantasies, which may have been inspired by media or conversation
Although previously considered the predominant prerogative of men,'perversion' in women is now much more widely reported
