The mirror, that personification of reflection

Is the mirror a monster, that subjugates women/men creates passivity, docility, that promotes a hedonic drive for the x of sexual allure. Yet it looks back at us this personifcation of reflection to tell us
(sorry, I mean me) how wretchedly ordinary I am.
