Why is it now that Labour apologises on immigration?

Ed Miliband apologises for Labour getting it wrong on immigration.

Why, and why now?  Because it is politically expedient. At one time in the UK there was an omerta, a vow of silence in regard to talking about immigration. The cognoscenti, the academics, the literati
the great swell of Liberal platitudes held a tsunami type fear over voices of protest.

No one spoke about it for to do so was to be deemed a racist. But then the British populace on their tiny island were getting fed  up with being unable to enter a doctors surgery, unable to a seat on a bus or train, unable to hear an English voice, unable to get a job and the electorate started openly complaining and this outed the politicians to talk about immigration.

So, are these politicians deep cynical, yes, they are.  Ed Miliband part of George Brown's and the holy fool Tony Blair's, Praetorian throughout their cynical immigration policies, now say mea culpa and he does so because it is politically expedient.  And in the lust for power, standards just as ethical consistency have no bearing.

At the last Labour conference attacked  the predatory businessmen and bankers who until recently were the Labour Party’s ideal of 'economic man'.

As Ed Miliband comes up with banal sound bites 'One Nation' a ploy stress a commitment to new values. all this does is encourages the use of a retread soundbite and cliche, but then this type of  rhetorical fancy is what one would expect fron pathologically power driven politician.
