I recall a high powered executive in the music industry who was an uber meditator who said to me
"...sometimes I go so deep (meditating) and it is so blissful I get this sense of what it would be like if you went (died) and well...I just can't wait to get there."
Hmm...well...eh..but the other side might not be like that at all...why conceive of it as cosmic unity and a 'higher' level.
Who do you blame for this kind of thinking..well, Plato and his Cave for one.
