Are we all not climbing towards convergence on a single moral truth. In effect are we not all climbing the same mountain? Yes, we are approaching it from different faces of the mountain. One climber may have grippons, pulleys and ropes. On the other face it is just bleeding hands that are aiding the ascents.
Yet this covergence towards a single truth has problems - for we find when we get to the peak it dawns on us we may have climbed the wrong peak.
Our opinion about a single truth, to our dismay, is found to have been no more than a theory.
We descend feeling that all our opinions are no more than theories.
